The Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation (IALF) has named Don Norton as its Education Coordinator.
Norton will be responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating all activities associated with individual seminars and the program curriculum as a whole. His assignments include communicating seminar details with all class participants, speakers and alumni, as well as assisting with development and public relations opportunities for the IALF.
Norton is an accomplished communications professional. He has taught broadcasting and new media, public speaking, advertising and public relations at the university and community college level, and is a much sought after leadership, customer service and marketing communications consultant. Together with his wife, Kay, he’s owned Mediacall, Inc., a highly successful consulting firm in Macomb, for 22 years.
In addition to marketing and corporate communications, Norton has served as a radio news anchor and reporter. He has earned four Illinois Associated Press awards for his work at stations WGN in Chicago, WJBC in Bloomington, and WJEQ in Macomb. He received his Master of Arts degree in Communications from Western Illinois University in 1991, and is a member of the Macomb Centennial Morning Rotary Club, where he was named a Paul Harris Fellow. He also has served on the boards of the United Way, Junior Achievement, Performing Arts Society, and other civic organizations.
