The most recent seminar of the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program was hosted by Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, at its global headquarters in Johnston, Iowa. Over the course of three days, December 8, 9, & 10, participants learned of the value of communications in developing strong advocates for agriculture. Participants developed their communication skills through interactive class discussion and networking.
Visiting Pioneer marks the first time in its 30 years the program has stepped outside of state lines for a session other than their National and International Seminars. Pioneer has been a supporter of the IALF since 1983 and recently committed to a grant to continue the personal and professional development of future agriculture leaders.
“Demand for solutions to meet global challenges continues to increase, and it is vital that we have influential representatives that can engage others to recognize the importance of agriculture” said Brad Lance, business director for Pioneer’s Heartland Unit (Illinois & Indiana). “Continuing to encourage personal and professional growth, through initiatives such as the IALF, will ensure the industry is well represented for years to come”.
