About the Job
The Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation provides a nationally-renowned program for developing local, state, national and global leaders for the food and agricultural industry. Every day, the 450 graduates of our flagship two-year leadership program are making a profound and positive impact on agriculture. The Alumni and Communications Director is responsible for planning alumni events, coordinating leadership education and training events with other agricultural organizations, and engaging alumni and other constituents through communication projects. This full-time position is based in our Bloomington, Illinois office.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in education, communications, public relations, agricultural communications or journalism required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Strong background in agriculture – particularly ag policy (state, national)
- Experience in planning executive education seminars
- Experience in the effective use of web-based portals and social media
- Knowledge of agricultural associations (state, national) and their functions
- Strong writing skills and excellent verbal abilities are essential
Specific Responsibilities
- Plan, program and coordinate leadership education and training events with alumni and other agricultural organizations
- Research and document historical and ongoing leadership successes of alumni
- Develop content for and publish alumni newsletters
- Update website pages and coordinate social media
